Meet the CEO


CEO William C. GiermakWilliam C. Giermak joined St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children as Chief Executive Officer in October 2004. Giermak previously served as the President/CEO of Obici Health System in Suffolk, Va., from 1988 to 2004. Among his many accomplishments were planning, designing, building and operating Obici Hospital’s $85 million replacement facility that opened in 2002.

Prior to joining Obici Health System, Giermak was administrator of Terre Haute Regional Hospital in Indiana for six years, administrator of Crockett General Hospital in Tennessee for three years and assistant administrator at Lewis-Gale Hospital in Salem, Va., for two years. He has a master’s degree in health administration from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University and a bachelor’s degree from the College of William & Mary.
